Hi, I'm sorry, but I only speak english.
Does anyone here know how to install and run Dark Colony and the Expansion (council wars) in Windows 7 64bit?
Again, sorry to post here in english, but this seems to be the ONLY semi-active Dark Colony fan site. If there's a better one for an english talker like myself please provide a link.  |

Oh, as a side note... It seems I can manually run the "DC16.exe" file from the CD, but that only allows me to try to connect to a multiplayer server.
However, when I try to run the "setup.exe" I get an error from Windows saying that the file version is not compatible in Windows.
I suspect that (this being an older game) I might be able to skip using the "setup.exe" and simply manually install the files and register them myself, but I'm not certain of this.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Thanks for any tips. |

You wrote a thread in the wrong place, but it does not matter. : P
Setup does not work under the new system. You have to download just installed game and unpack this, instead of
installer.
You can also copy the game files from the CD, but I do not know if it works.
If game can't see the game CD in the drive (ie you can only join in multiplayer) just download CD-FIX from our website. Upload it to the game folder and run. Set CD drive where is a game CD. Save the changes and since then should be ok.

Thank you for the reply. Sorry I posted in the wrong section, I can't read anything, lol.
If I'm following you correctly, I'll try and find the "CD-Fix" as well as the "installed game" (???) from this website.
I own the real CD-Rom an was trying to use that... so I just need to figure out how to do the manual install/copy thing I think. |

UPDATE - OK, I was able to copy the game files from my CD to my HDD. I then applied the 1.01 patch and then used "CD-Fix" to point the game to my CD-Rom. I then ran DC16.exe and the game runs. Hooray!!
BUT... the music is not playing. 
Is there a way to get the songs and music to play during the game again?

First, use the "edycja" button to modify your post instead of making new one. I understand the linguistic problems, but... just remember, ok 
Secondly, say something here and approve our idea.
finally, try to play normal DC or DC16.exe by using the compatibility mode. I don't really know how it's called in english, but you'll find easily under the right mouse button if you only look for

If you wanna have music you have to have CD or ISO with soundtrack (is like normal music cd).

I'll try to remember to edit the posts.
Also, I don't understand your meaning of "Secondly, say something here and approve our idea."
I tried compatibility mode, but that didn't help. I guess I thought the ISO of my original CD Rom included the soundtrack, but I must have copied it wrong.
Is there a full ISO (with music) download here? I didn't see one when I looked before, but will try to translate again and see.
